“Benzos” is the slang term for the category of psychoactive medications called Benzodiazepine. Brand names of the drug include Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, and Valium. Benzodiazepine overdoses are on the rise.
Passings from excesses of solution narcotics known as benzodiazepines—including Xanax and Valium—are on the ascent, as per a report in the New England Journal of Medicine. As per information from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, glut passings including benzodiazepines expanded from 1,135 of every 1999, to 8,791 out of 2015.
Benzodiazepines are endorsed to treat conditions including nervousness, sleep deprivation and seizures. Excesses have expanded in the previous decade, as the quantity of solutions for these medications has expanded, HealthDay reports. Solutions for benzodiazepines rose by 67 percent somewhere in the range of 1996 and 2013, from 8.1 million to 13.5 million.
