James is an expert mental health and addictions professional with more than 30 years of experience providing care and treatment to individuals suffering from addiction, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and trauma. James has a degree of insight, understanding and compassion that is unparalleled. His primary focus is helping clients live a life free from the sorrow, stress and anguish of the past. The power of present-centered living and mind-body-spirit connection are accessed, allowing people to live their personal best in all areas of their lives. James creates an atmosphere that is judgement-free and is safe to explore all issues. This produces catharses, a new perspective of self and life, promoting incorporation of new tools and resources to heal and enrich one’s life.
James received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Saint Vincent College, in Latrobe, PA. This is the home of the Steeler’s spring training camp and home to the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media James completed his Master’s Degree in Counselor Education at The Pennsylvania State University. James has served multiple internships and post-graduate trainings, including an internship at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical School.
James has trained with some of the most brilliant leaders in the helping profession, including Stephanie Covington, Daniel Griffin, Melody Beaty, Ann Smith – Break Through at Caron Treatment Centers, Pia Mellody, Lisa Najavits – Seeking Safety, and others. James has trained and worked with Caron Treatment Centers, Hazelden Treatment Centers, Mercy Behavioral Health, and at the community level with such facilities as CARP – West Palm Beach and Western County Mental Health Center.
